On the 5th and 6th of May, a delegation of 8 people got out of Koh Seh to represent MCC, Kep, and the Archipelago struggling ecosystem in The Villa Vedici football tournament, happening every year in May.
After 4 years of hard work, frustration, struggle, passion and dedication, the 11 354ha Kep MFMA has been nationally proclaimed! This is a huge step for Kep Archipelago, and for Cambodia. This MFMA is the second one in the country, after Sihanoukville province. This is a new dawn, and a breath of hope for every single person that fought for this to happen!
On the last day of March, a group of 15 students from Pannasastra university of Cambodia arrived on the island for a two-day study visit with MCC team. They came on Koh Seh to learn about ocean protection, a topic they are deeply interested in since most of them are majoring in environmental sciences.
This week end, we were happy to receive the Liger Marine Research Team, for the 4th time of 2018! This was the occasion for them to do the second session of survey, after the deployment of their artificial reef, one month ago.

2018 will be the year of change for the Archipelago and MCC. After having collected 12 136$ with our crowdfunding campaign, we managed to find a new partner, Heinrich Boll Stiftung, who will pledge 10000$ for MCC projects.
The 17th of March was a huge day in MCC history. We had the honour to receive His Excellency Eng Cheasan, National Director of the Fisheries administration, to drop the first symbolic concrete block of the 11 354 ha MFMA of Kep Archipelago, allowing to us start the deployment.
Last week was very special for MCC since six students of the Liger Leadership Academy and their teacher came 4 days on the island to deploy their artificial reef and realize their baseline surveys. We were truly happy and proud to have the Liger Marine Research Team (LMRT) for so long on Koh Seh.
MCC 1st crowdfunding campaign is now closed and finished! We finally managed to reach 12136$, almost 25% of our Goal, in 3 months. It will extremely helpful for the next steps of the project.
