I am an octopus

I am a soft-bodied, eight-limbed mollusc of the order Octopoda. We are some 300 species and are grouped within the class Cephalopoda with squids, cuttlefish, and nautiloids

Where can you find us?

We inhabit various regions of the ocean, including coral reefs, pelagic waters, and the seabed; some live in the intertidal zone and others at abyssal depths. Most of us grow quickly, mature early, and are short-lived.

My friend spoon-armed octopus (Bathypolypus arcticus) lives at depths of 1000m, which is too far. Could you please help me say hello when you visit them?

People often remember me as a best juggler of the world. I mean, eight arms, right? Sadly, not a lot of people know that I’m also New York Times’ best-selling author EIGHT years in a row! Don’t believe me? Click here to check out my autobiographies!
